How it works
The calculator compares the base area of the two pans. Multiply every ingredient by the factor to keep the same depth of batter or filling. Area of a round pan is π × radius²; a square or rectangle is length × width.
- With the same depth, baking time usually stays close to the original, but a much larger or smaller pan can need more or less time: start checking for doneness early.
- If you keep the ingredient amounts instead, a smaller pan gives a deeper layer that needs longer baking, and a larger pan a thinner one that bakes faster.
- Pan sizes are measured across the top inside edge.
